Some Ghanaians and members of the leading New Patriotic Party (NDC) have cautioned former president John Dramani not to contest for the upcoming 2020 general elections.
According to them, even when Mahama was in power, Ghanaians still voted him out so he shouldn’t call for any disgrace for himself. One person who also agrees that Mahama is not the best choice is Dr.Kwabena Donkor.
The ex-Minister of Power, Dr Kwabena Donkor, has said he cannot tell for certain whether former president John Mahama, under whom he served as a minister, is the right person to lead the National Democratic Congress into the 2020 elections or not.
He made this statement in response to a question he was asked on Tuesday, 27 November 2018 if he thought Mr Mahama was the best choice for the party ahead of the 2020 polls, Dr Donkor told Accra-based Starr FM that: “I don’t know, I don’t know because if with him we win 2020, he would have been the best choice. If we don’t win, it would have been a wrong choice”.
