The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), yesterday were seen in Parliament with Placards inscribed as ‘Bloody Widow’ and many people have spoken against it.
This happened during the swearing in of the new MP elect.
The former first lady of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings says the minority in Parliament should apologize to the new member of Parliament elect, Lydia Seyram Alhassan.
A statement from the office of the former first lady copied says the minority’s conduct was “shameful” and a setback against the fight to whip up women’s interest in politics and governance.
“I call on the leadership of the NDC to do what is honourable by apologising to Ghanaians generally and specifically, to the Hon. Seyram Lydia Alhassan and the good people of Ayawaso West Wuogon.” it stated.
